Tanzania Family Safari

The Tanzania Family Safari is an 8-day private safari designed for families with children, from toddler-friendly pacing to multi-generational groups of nine. The route covers four of Tanzania's most rewarding parks (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti) with flexible daily schedules that work around nap times, energy levels, and the things your kids actually want to see.

Your guide isn't just driving. Filly, Yusuph, and the WildReality team know how to turn a game drive into something a seven-year-old remembers for life: naming animals, explaining predator behavior, handing a child the binoculars at exactly the right moment. Cultural stops (Maasai village visits, bead-making workshops, market walks) give kids something to do, not just something to watch.

This is not a watered-down safari that tolerates kids. It's a real, full-immersion wildlife journey built around the way families actually travel: poolside downtime between game drives, family-sized rooms with space to spread out, and guides who treat your children like guests, not inconveniences.

Pricing Note

From $4,500 per person (based on 2 adults sharing, excluding international flights). Child discounts available. Price includes private vehicle, dedicated guide, all park fees, family-friendly accommodation, and all meals.

Highlights

  • Tarangire's Elephant Herds and Baobab Forests — Tarangire is famous for its giant elephants and towering baobab trees. Herds of 50 or more move through the park in dry season, and the baobab forests look like something from a picture book.
  • Ngorongoro Crater Floor Safari — A volcanic caldera with one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Rhinos, lions, hyenas, flamingos, and wildebeest — all within a single day's drive inside the crater.
  • Maasai Cultural Visit — A guided visit to a Maasai village with bead-making, dance demonstrations, and meeting Maasai children — a cultural layer that gives families a window into a way of life that predates the parks.
  • Serengeti Big Cat Country — Year-round lion, cheetah, and hyena territory. Your guide knows where the resident prides are and positions the vehicle for the best viewing in golden afternoon light.
  • Tree Canopy Walkway at Lake Manyara — Kids walk above the forest canopy on a suspended bridge — a thrilling sky-high experience that breaks up the vehicle-based days with something physical and fun.
