Our Story

Born in Tanzania.

WildReality Safari is a small, family-owned company built on a lifetime of love for this land - led by people who were born here, raised here, and shaped by the landscapes we now share with the world.

Our story doesn't begin in an office. It begins with childhood wonder, dusty roads, and a young boy who felt most alive under open skies.

"We are in a better position to represent Tanzania than someone who hasn't lived it."

The beginning

My name is Allen. My journey into the world of safaris began long before I knew what a "tour operator" even was. I still remember my first school trip to the Selous Game Reserve - now Nyerere National Park. I was just a boy, but the moment I saw elephants moving quietly through the floodplains, something inside me changed.

At home, our evenings were filled with National Geographic Wild and the unforgettable voice of Sir David Attenborough. Those documentaries weren't just background noise - they shaped my imagination, taught me to pay attention to nature, and made me dream of exploring Tanzania from end to end.

"There is nowhere else like it. Visiting Tanzania feels like experiencing five African countries in one."

— Allen Kimbelwa, Founder

Zanzibar & the mountains

During school and university breaks, I travelled to Zanzibar to help my uncle at his boutique hotel, Shooting Star Lodge. I met travellers from all walks of life and learned the importance of warmth, storytelling, and genuine hospitality - how powerful it is when people feel welcomed not just as guests, but as friends.

When I wasn't at the coast, I was in the mountains - camping alone in the Usambara and Lushoto ranges, sleeping under the stars, making fires, hiking trails that few people knew. I climbed to the summit of Kilimanjaro. I explored nearly every corner of this country, and with each journey, my love for Tanzania grew deeper.

Why we built it this way

When we founded WildReality Safari, we knew exactly what we wanted - a safari company that does things differently: professionally, personally, authentically, and truly local.

We never wanted to become a big, factory-style operator. Staying small and family-run allows us to remain connected to every guest, every itinerary, and every experience. Our team is 100% Tanzanian - guides, planners, and community hosts who live the stories we share and know this land the way only locals can.

For us, a safari isn't about ticking boxes. It's about connection - to nature, to culture, to the quiet moments that stay with you long after you return home. We craft journeys the way we would for our own family: with intention, honesty, and the love we have for the land that raised us.

Karibu Tanzania. Karibu WildReality Safari.

What makes us different

These aren't marketing points. They're the principles we built the company on and the standards we hold ourselves to every day.

100% Locally Owned

No foreign holding company, no middlemen, no compromise. Every decision is made by people who live in Tanzania and love it.

Private Safari Only

Your vehicle, your guide, your pace. We never mix groups or sacrifice your experience for someone else's convenience.

Community First

Our partners, suppliers, and staff are drawn from the communities surrounding the parks we work in. Tourism should strengthen them - not bypass them.

Conservation in Practice

A share of every booking funds anti-poaching, wildlife monitoring, and habitat restoration. We measure what we contribute.

Giving Back

Schools, water access, skills training. Our giving-back programme is ongoing, transparent, and tied directly to the places we operate.
